Principal
I grew up in a small midwest town, Rochelle, Illinois. I graduated from Rochelle High School and furthered my education at Kishwaukee Jr. College and then the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, IA.
I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Dubuque in Education and then received my Master’s in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
This is my eleventh year at Gilmer ISD. My first six years were from 2004 to 2010. I taught history and coached at Gilmer High School. My second stint at GISD started in 2015 when I was hired as the Bruce Jr. High Principal. I genuinely love my job and enjoy building relationships with both the students and the BJHS staff. The staff and I are here everyday to help students to grow academically and to help them to mature into awesome, responsible young adults.
Prior to the position as Principal at Bruce Jr. High, I was the Principal at Forest Park Magnet School in Longview, TX. I was also the Headmaster at Christian Heritage School in Longview, TX.
My wife, Ann and I have been married for thirty-two years. We have five children, Lindsey, Alec, Will, Hannah, and Abbey. We also have four grandchildren with one on the way.
Anyone that knows me knows that I especially love baseball. The Chicago Cubs have always been my team through thick and thin. Mostly thin, except for the World Series win in 2016! I enjoy being with my family and friends. When I’m not at school I am usually at a game, meet, concert, or a school event and that’s exactly how I want it to be. I enjoy seeing our BJHS students playing and performing outside of the school day.
